Biography
DJ and producer from Santander de Quilichao, Colombia, founder of the Tech'Q collective. House and tech house with Latin percussion, groove and a real connection with the dancefloor.
John Ortega (Jhon Jairo Ortega Rodríguez) was born in Cali in 1998 and is based in Santander de Quilichao, Colombia. Into electronic music since late 2011, his sound blends marked percussion, Latin rhythms and enveloping atmospheres across house, tech house and deep tech. He has shared the stage with artists such as Stacey Pullen, WaFF, Stefano Noferini, Franky Rizardo, Classmatic, Koleto, Montezuma, Ramón Bedoya and Steve Aguirre, among others, and has supported Moreno & Prieto, Sacchi, Koleto and Forge. Founder and pioneer of the underground scene in his city, he created the Tech'Q collective. His Beatport discography includes “My Back” (Latinos, 2025), “We Go Again” (BOOTH, 2025), “Step Rhythm” (Alaska, 2025), “Someday” (BOOTH, 2026) and “Vacilalo” (MangoTech, 2026).
