Mike Mendel is an underground DJ and producer born in the city of Manizales, founder of the Cultivando Cultura Techno collective and a deeply passionate devotee of the genre. At 17 he began studying audio production at Batuta MOOG; he then bought a controller on which he learned everything he knows about mixing technique and, putting his studies and passions into practice, began organising techno events. He is known for his tremendous energy when performing, with an excellent command of the crowd and of track selection — which is how he drives the dance floor to ecstasy. In 2021 he made his first international release on the V.A. COLOMBIAN FIGHTERS compilation from the Spanish label Quantum Computer Records, with a three-track EP. In 2022 he released his first vinyl on the Colombian label Business Class Records, alongside artists such as TENSION (Germany) and Pfropf (Spain), and that same year he made his second international release on Physical Techno Recordings, the label run by DJ and producer Ayako Mori. In 2023 he released the track “Du Hast Interpretation”. Throughout this time he has shared his music in cities such as Manizales, Medellín and Pereira, and in towns such as Chinchiná.
